Guide
How do I describe the photo I want?
Describe the photo in plain words: where you are, what you are wearing, the light, and who took it. For example: “me at a café table by the window, natural light, a friend took it on their phone”. You get variants. Choose the closest one, name the next change, one thing at a time, until the photo is right. You keep only the photos you approve.
What should my first description include?
Four things: the place, the clothes, the light and who took it, a selfie or a friend’s phone. “At my desk in a bright office, navy blazer, daylight from the window, a colleague took it on their phone” is enough. Skip camera words: the Studio aims every new photo at an everyday phone-photo look, so “studio lighting”, “bokeh” or “golden hour” work against it. Skip your looks too: your face and build come from your photos, not from the description.
How long can a description be?
Up to 2,000 characters per message; anything longer is cut off. A sentence or two, like the examples on this page, is enough.
How do I ask for a change?
Tap Refine on the variant closest to what you want, then say the one thing to change and what to keep: “change the background to a park in daylight, keep everything else”. The Studio edits that photo with just that change, so one change per round is easier to get right than five.
What are good descriptions for each use?
Work: “in a meeting room at work, dark blazer, daylight from the window, friendly”. Social: “on a sunny street, casual jacket, a friend took it on their phone”. Travel: “an arm’s-length selfie by the sea in the afternoon, light shirt, relaxed”. Dating: “at a café table by the window, natural light, casual”.
What if a variant isn’t right?
Name what is off and ask again: “a little warmer, like late afternoon light”, “less polished”, “a different shirt”. If nothing in a new batch is close, Reroll makes a fresh batch of the same idea, or describe something new. A session has up to 60 rounds of changes, and you can reopen it within 7 days.
What can’t I ask for?
Another person: the Studio works only from your own photos, so it can’t put a specific friend or partner in the photo. You can upload only photos of yourself, and you must be 18 or older. Writing: signs, logos or words on clothes. Photos with readable text are removed by the quality checks before you see them. Every photo the Studio makes is AI-generated and labelled that way in its file name and metadata.
Ready to describe your first photo?
Upload your photos, pick the one that looks most like you, then say where you are, what you are wearing, the light and who took it.
